Rear Shock Replacement
Procedure for replacing rear shock absorbers on the 924/944, including a simple bounce test to diagnose worn shocks.

Introduction
Worn rear shocks significantly affect ride and handling. To check whether the rear shocks need replacing, push down sharply on the back of the car several times and release. If the car rebounds more than twice after you stop pushing, the rear shocks need replacing. Replace both shocks as a pair — if one has failed, the other is likely near the end of its service life as well.
