Rear Sway Bar Removal and Installation

Short procedure for removing and reinstalling the rear anti-roll (sway) bar and drop links on the 924/944.

Tools

  • Metric socket/wrench set
  • Floor jack / jack stands

Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle on jack stands.

  2. Removing the rear wheels simplifies the job but is not required.

  3. Remove the two bolts/nuts on either end of the sway bar that attach it to the drop links.

  4. Remove the four bolts (two on each side) that hold the sway bar to the torque tube carrier and remove the sway bar from the vehicle.

  5. Installation is the reverse of removal.
