Head stud torque specifications and tightening sequence for all 8V and 16V 944/924S/968 engines, with the stud tightening diagram and instructions for angle-tightened assemblies.

General
When following the torque sequences below, wait approximately 15 minutes between torque steps to allow the studs to stretch and fully settle before the next torque application.
Note: The 16V tightening sequence differs slightly from the 8V sequence. Refer to the 16V Cylinder Head and Head Gasket Removal and Installation procedure for the correct 16V sequence.
